Everyone has a story to tell. Most people have many stories to tell. Whether for performance, presentation, persuasion, or just entertaining your peers, learning how to tell your story and how to tell it well is truly empowering. In this fun, interactive, and in-depth workshop we will help you develop your unique voice, find your story, craft it, and tell it well.
This workshop focuses on personal storytelling: first-person, true and personal narratives. Participants will be introduced to the basics of story structure, will mine their memories for dormant stories and will learn simple ways for telling authentic tales to a range of audiences. Participants need not prepare a story in advance but if they have one, they are welcome to bring it. Ideally, it should be no longer than five minutes. It need not be written down. Those with no experience, a little bit, or lots of it are equally welcome.
